A fully funded two-year placement for an early-career curator who, to any extent, identifies with Chinese or Sinophone cultures or backgrounds, run by Asymmetry (an arts charity supporting Chinese and Sinophone curators, with partners including Tate Modern, Chisenhale Gallery and the Courtauld) and Nottingham Contemporary, one of the largest contemporary art spaces in the UK.
The fellow joins Nottingham Contemporary's curatorial team, contributing to exhibitions, artist commissions, live programmes, research, writing and institutional development across every stage of a project, and gets dedicated resources to curate their own programme of public events.
They also join Asymmetry's international cohort of fellows and scholars and present their research through its programmes.
Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of curatorial experience, a degree in Art History, Cultural Studies or a related field (or equivalent experience), experience working with living artists, commissioning, and producing exhibitions, live programmes and editorial content, plus excellent written and spoken English; a second language is preferred.
Benefits include annual leave plus UK bank holidays, visa and legal fee assistance where required, and a travel and relocation allowance.
