Interns work with editors on the London news hub, which covers breaking news and sets up the U.S. day across all platforms.
The work involves editing and publishing news and feature articles at speed, with a focus on sharp headlines, and helping curate the WSJ app, home page, social feeds, Google Showcase and WhatsApp.
There may be chances to work with reporters on spot news and pitch your own feature ideas.
Candidates need strong news judgment, editing and writing skills, a sense of visual presentation across platforms, and a commitment to high journalistic standards; business or economics expertise is not required.
Applicants must have completed at least one prior reporting internship at a professional media organisation, or have published exceptional work with a campus outlet or as a freelancer.
Fluency in English is required, and fluency in another European language is strongly preferred.
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Apply with a single PDF (max 5MB) containing a cover letter (max 800 words), CV, and three full published articles with your role explained (no hyperlinks).
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with selections by the end of January; only finalists will be contacted.
The WSJ is published by Dow Jones, part of News Corp, and holds more than three dozen Pulitzer Prizes.
