The LEGO Group's Creative Play Lab is an innovation hub exploring what play could become next, bringing together researchers, engineers, creatives, inventors, technologists, makers and storytellers.
Interns join Play Offering's Play Discovery team, which invents new forms of play through creative ideation, play invention, model exploration, story innovation and child co-creation.
Interns work as active team members from day one and may build physical and digital prototypes, explore emerging technologies, run research and insight-gathering activities, take part in ideation workshops, develop concepts and storytelling frameworks and pursue their own curiosity projects, with mentoring and coaching throughout.
Past intern roles include Story Innovation, Play Invention (digital, physical and hardware), Concept Model Exploration and Play Finder.
The programme runs twice a year (February to June and September to December) across Billund, London and Singapore.
Open to students from all backgrounds; curiosity and creativity matter most.
Requirements vary by role: many ask for a portfolio and a one-page poster, and some include a video submission or interview.
Former interns have gone on to roles such as LEGO Designer, Element Designer and Play Inventor.
